Feedback by a fearful and traumatised Malaysian citizen
Editor iKDN | 29 Julai 09 3:00pm

Dear Ministry of Home Affairs,

I am a regular Malaysian citizen of an averaged income status. I live is Section 17, Petaling Jaya Selangor and this area has sufferred very seriously high crime rates over the years. Almost every other person/neighbour in the neighbourhood has experienced some form of criminal attack from the evildoers and hooligans that roam the vicinity.

I am also a victim. I have, in this month alone JULY 2009, been victim of two (2) attempted robberies on the same street, Jalan 17/1. I have to pass this street everyday. I have made police reports and please imagine my fear and trauma when the same thing almost happens again in a span of less than three (3) weeks. I still continue to see these 'suspects' on the street (especially those suspicious looking ones, with 2 people on the bike and wearing a knapsack - probably to keep weapons like knife, icepick, hammer, parang etc.)

We are fearful of the environment that we live in and it is even frightening to go home now. Since these serious crimes are increasing, I have always kept a look out on the road from where I live and my neighbours all agree that we have NOT seen any:-

1) police patrol cars in the area;

2) road blocks to search for suspects;

3) investigations by police or interviews made with the security guards of the apartments/condominiums in the area.

MOHA, please please let the POLICE be more VISIBLE in these areas because the RAKYAT is NOT feeling safe. We feel left alone and not taken care of by the POLICE. We respect the POLICE and we need help from the POLICE. We want to work together with the POLICE, but sometimes, we are frustrated that no matter how much we do to follow up with the POLICE, nothing much seems to be done and the CRIMINALS who are EVIL are still not caught but instead they rule the roads.

I believe that the RAKYAT and POLICE are GOD FEARING, with the HELP of GOD - together we can overcome the evil people. We need to do something now before evil and crime take over the country totally. By then, there is nothing we can do to help it. No SYSTEM, No law can stop the evil.

But I believe greatly in GOD - God will judge and will meet these criminals who do evil to the innocent and helpless face to face. By then, there will be divine justice.

Before I end, I take this opportunity to thank MOHA and the police for those that are putting the effort and to work with dedication to serve the nation. God bless you always. Because MOHA has the authority to do what is right, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

Thank you very much.

Signed,
A MALAYSIAN JUST LIKE YOU.
